Level 3 Award
in First Line Management
This
qualification is for individuals who are likely to become first line managers
(team leaders or supervisors) or who are already in post and have had
little or no formal training.
Candidates
may be working in almost any environment; factories, offices, hospitals,
call centres, building sites, shops, leisure centres, the armed forces
etc. Wherever people and resources are employed, first line managers with
an ILM First Line Management Qualification will ensure that they are employed
effectively.
The
course is short and flexible and consists of 34 guided learning hours
which can run over 6 consecutive days or over a longer period up to a
maximum of 1 year. The learning hours include a short induction, one-to-one
tutorial support and 10 three hour workshops covering a range of subjects
including; Solving Problems and Making Decisions.
Assessment
consists of a work-based assignment and short unit assignments. Successful
candidates will be awarded the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management
and a minimum of 5 credits.
There are no formal entry requirements,
but candidates should be practising or potential first line managers with
two years full-time (or three years part-time) work experience, and a
background which will enable them to benefit from the programme
NHS
candidates who have completed the LEO programme can participate in a 9
hour top-up programme to achieve the ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management.
