Level
5 Award in Management
This
qualification is for individuals who are likely to be either practising
or aspiring middle managers, particularly those who are already in post
but have had little or no formal training.
Candidates
may be working in almost any environment; factories, offices, hospitals,
call centres, building sites, shops, leisure centres, the armed forces
etc. Wherever people and resources are employed, middle managers with
an ILM Level 5 Management Qualification will ensure that they are employed
effectively.
The
ILM Level 5 Award in Management comprehensively covers the full range
of responsibilities of the middle manager and can be tailored to fit specific
needs. It provides the knowledge and skills needed to perform effectively
in the high pressure world of the 21st century and consists of 45 guided
learning hours which can be run over 7 days or over a longer period up
to one year. It includes a 1 hour induction, 2 hours one-to-one tutorial
support and 7 six hour workshop sessions (the workshop sessions can be
substituted with open/distance learning materials if required). Collaborative
learning, reflective learning and continuing professional development
are essential features of the course.
Assessment
consists of a work-based assignment and 3 short unit assignments. Successful
candidates will be awarded the ILM Level 5 Award in Management and a minimum
of 10 credits.
There
are no formal entry requirements, but candidates should be practising
or potential middle managers with a background that will enable them to
benefit from the programme.
